Picnic for two…hundred!

What better way to celebrate the start of spring than a picnic and a bike ride with 200 of your closest friends? We’ll be meeting up near the Angelika Theater at Mockingbird Station at 2:00 on Sunday, March 21st.  From there, we’ll ride through the M Streets to New Flower Market on Henderson, where we’ll fill our picnic baskets with all sorts of healthy snacks generously donated by our friends at NFM (if you can’t find exactly what you want, additional items will be available for purchase inside the store).

After we’re all stocked up with goodies, we’ll roll on to the banks of White Rock Lake for a picnic by the water!  Bring your kites, Frisbees, guitars, and blankets.  If you can’t imagine how you’ll carry all that stuff on your bike, no worries – just bringing yourself is enough for us!  However, if you’ve been searching for just the right basket to carry your kite around town in anyway, you may want to chat with our friends at Transit Bikes or Villy Customs.  They’re full of great ideas for customizing your bike, and both offer nice discounts for anyone who mentions BFKH.

Since we’ll probably need some motivation to leave our little paradise by the lake, we’ll be announcing some bike-friendly drink specials waiting for everyone back on Henderson Ave.

Finally, if you’re joining us from a distant locale or just end up disoriented by the end of the night, here’s a handy route map to follow along.  Hope to see you all there!
